Joanie Lane opened "A Positive Light" in May of 2010. Her vision for the center is to share positive teachings, with intention to spread loving kindness through the experiential techniques of Meditation, Qigong and Reiki.

Set at the base of beautiful Mt. Konocti in Kelseyville, Ca. we offer a peaceful, open and loving environment. We hold weekly meditation classes in Mindfulness, Loving-kindness, and Insight meditation.

Joanie Lane is the Creator of and Dharma /Meditation Teacher at "A Positive Light" meditation center. She has over 30 years of meditation practice and training. She also teaches Qigong, Reiki, is a Certified Life and Spiritual Coach, Author & Poet. Joanie began her meditation practice in 1989 receiving training in Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism as well as Zen and considers her education in the Buddhist practices "mixed" through her extensive training.
Her initial training was received through Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Marin County, Ca. and gratefully acknowledges Jack Kornfield, Kevin Griffin, Mark Coleman, James Baraz, and Ayya Anandabodhi, among some of her teachers. She continued her education in 2008 in Bali and again in 2010 at Brahmavira Arama Buddhist Monastery in deep study ending with 14 days of Bodhisattva study and vows receiving her robes and Pali name "Heart of Light". Surprisingly Lama Kunga Rinpoche bestowed the same name "HeartWith Light" during her Bodhisattva vows in 2011 at Ewam Chodron Tibetan Buddhist Center in Kensington, California.
She lives at her meditation center in Kelseyville in Northern California where she teaches and leads classes. She has developed several of her own unique energy healing systems such as "Royal White Tiger Qigong" "Healing Movement Qigong" and "Prasava", a mindful childbirth course. She is a student of internationally renowned Qigong Masters Ken Cohen and Mingtong Gu. Joanie is also a Master/Teacher of the Usui lineage of Reiki.

Kevin Griffin is the author of One Breath at a Time: Buddhism and the Twelve Steps , A Burning Desire: Dharma God and the Path of Recovery, Buddhism & The Twelve Steps Workbook, Recovering Joy, Living Kindness: Buddhist Teachings for a Troubled World, and most recently Buddhism & the Twelve Steps Daily Reflections: Thoughts on Dharma and Recovery. A longtime Buddhist practitioner and 12 Step participant, he is a leader in the mindful recovery movement and one of the founders of the Buddhist Recovery Network. Kevin has trained with the leading Western Vipassana teachers, among them Jack Kornfield, Joseph Goldstein, and Ajahn Amaro. His teacher training was as a Community Dharma Leader at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Marin County, CA. Kevin teaches internationally in Buddhist centers, treatment centers, professional conferences, and academic settings. He specializes in helping people in recovery connect with meditation and a progressive understanding of the 12 Steps.

JoAnn Saccato, MA is a mindfulness teacher, life-coach, author, inspirational speaker, educator and consultant living in the hills of Northern California. She has over 20 years of mindfulness practice, is the author of Companioning the Sacred Journey: A Guide to Creating a Compassionate Container for Your Spiritual Practice and the forthcoming book, Mindful and Intentional Living: A Path to Peace, Clarity and Freedom. JoAnn completed her Bachelors and Masters degree (Co-creating Sustainable Futures) at Sonoma State University Hutchins School of Liberal Studies. She also helped found the Lake County Community Co-op (Lake Co-op) in Lake County, CA. She received her dharma name in the Thich Nhat Hanh lineage, Awakened Presence of the Heart, while receiving the Three Jewels and Five Mindfulness Trainings at Camp Latize in 2007.
