As a meditator for more than 30 years and a meditation teacher for over 10, Joanie Lane (she/her) has committed to a 2 year Mindfulness Meditation Certification Program in 2019 taught by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach - two of the most skilled and respected teachers on mindfulness meditation in the west. Her Mentor in the program is Deb Kerr (she/her) is a partner, mother, grandmother, and retired speech pathologist who has meditated since 1991, and taught since 2002. She is influenced by both Vipassana and Dzogchen practices.  A graduate of Spirit Rock’s Community Dharma Leader program, Deb is a Core Teacher at East Bay Meditation Center, where she also guides the Every Body Every Mind Sangha for people with disabilities and chronic illness. Deb is especially interested in using all the tools of Buddhist practice to help dismantle racism; and she loves maximizing well-being through the practices of lovingkindness, compassion and wisdom.

"My goal in joining this class is to be able to bring all who attend A Positive Light events the gift of a happier more fulfilled life through a larger variety of classes and more in-depth learning."
"As a Teacher of Buddhist based meditation I follow the path of serving to benefit others. In order to follow my calling and bring the very best teachings to you I continue my Sutta studies, and research of the great teachers to provide the best service to all who attend the classes here at A Positive Light."  ~Joanie Lane
