Dharma teacher Joanie Lane leads this traditional insight meditation (vipassana) evening retreat with emphasis on quieting the mind and opening the heart. Develop a more easeful relationship with life. By cultivating a calm mind and a kind heart toward ourselves and others, we learn how to live in loving awareness. Explore the practices of sitting meditation and body scans. Cultivate your skill at navigating life by engaging with present moment awareness.
Suitable for beginning meditators, and experienced meditators who wish to deepen their practice.
Two sitting meditations, Instructions will be given based on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Discourses on the dharma, with time for discussion.
Learn to rest into yourself, and open to the awareness of each moment, allowing the moment to unfold naturally.
Chairs, cushions and zafus available. Or feel free to bring your own.
